The simplest way is to use a relay and wire it to turn the pump on when the engine is running. Spice it up a bit with a thermostat to allow the pump to run after the engine is off to cool it down and prevent heat soak; I would also hook the cooling fan(s) up to run off this same thermostat. Some people might think they need to run this pump off of some type of controller to vary its output with RPM, but this complication just isn't necessary.
